Running your classes

Designed for one hand, at the door, in the minute before a class starts.

Today

The app opens on Today, showing your classes for the week ahead, soonest first. Each one tells you the time, the room, and how many people are booked.

A class that has started is marked Check in. One you have finished with is marked Marked.

Schedule shows the whole studio's timetable if you want to see what else is on.

Taking the register

Tap a class to open its register. Everyone booked is listed by name.

  1. Tap a name as each person arrives. A tick appears.
  2. The count at the top keeps track: how many are here, how many are not yet marked.
Marking someone present does not free their seat

The seat was theirs whether they came or not, so the class stays full either way. You are recording what happened, not changing who was booked.

What the notes mean

Some names carry a short note underneath. These are there so you find out before the class rather than during it.

NoteWhat it means
Waiver not signedThey have not agreed to the studio's waiver. Speak to them before they take part, and to the front desk.
First classThey have never attended here. Worth a word before you start.
From the waiting listA seat opened and the app booked them in. They did not choose this class, so they may not arrive.
SuspendedThe studio has put their account on hold. Check with the desk.
Injury, or another studio noteAdded by studio staff. Read it before the class.

Someone who is not booked

If somebody turns up without a booking and there is room, add them from the register. They are booked and marked present in one step.

This spends one of their classes, exactly like booking normally, and counts them against the room. That keeps your register honest and stops a class quietly going over its limit.

If they have no classes left, or the room is full, the app says so rather than letting it through. Send them to the front desk.

Closing the register

Once the class has started, Close the roster finishes it off. Anyone still unmarked is recorded as not having turned up, and your studio's policy on that is applied.

The app tells you how many people that affects before you confirm.

Closing is deliberate, and that is on purpose

Nothing closes a register for you. If you forget, it stays open for the studio to look at, rather than quietly marking people absent who may well have been there. So please close it, but never close it in a hurry.

You cannot close a register before the class has started.

Fixing mistakes

Tapping the wrong name is easily undone: tap it again and the tick comes off. You do not need anyone's help, and you can do it as many times as you like before you close the register.

After closing, ask studio staff. They can change an outcome and put a class back on someone's account.

What you cannot do yet

Requesting a substitute and messaging a class are not built yet. For now, speak to studio staff, who can cancel a class and tell everyone booked into it.
